Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 5, 2026

Welcome to Trip Timelines ("we," "our," or "us"), accessible at www.triptimelines.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.

1. Information we collect

We collect information directly from registered Trip Organisers and from Guest Participants who access shared trip links.

  • Account Owners: your email address and authentication credentials are managed through Clerk. Trip titles, destinations, dates, ideas, itineraries and votes are stored to provide the service.
  • Pro purchases: Polar.sh is our Merchant of Record. We do not process or store raw payment card details or full billing addresses on our servers.
  • Guest Participants: guests provide a display name only. No account or email address is required. Guests may add ideas and cast votes.

2. How we use your information

We use the information collected to operate the service, authenticate organisers, provide Pro features, display trip content to members of the relevant trip, maintain security, and prevent unauthorised access.

We generate shareable, time-limited invitation links. We do not currently send promotional or transactional marketing emails.

3. Shared links and expiry

Trip invitation links are active for seven days from generation. After expiry, the link cannot admit new participants unless the Organiser renews or replaces it. Existing participants retain access to the trip.

Anyone with an active link can view and contribute to that trip, including seeing participant display names. Organisers should share links only with trusted people.

4. Subprocessors and service providers

We use trusted third parties to provide core functionality. Clerk provides authentication and account management. Polar.sh provides payment processing, invoicing and Merchant of Record services. Their own privacy policies and terms apply to those services.

5. Data retention and account deletion

Organisers can permanently delete their account through the Clerk profile menu by choosing Manage Account and then the account deletion option. Account deletion removes the user account and associated trip data from our systems.

6. Your data rights

Depending on where you live, UK and EU data protection law may give you rights to access, correct or erase personal data we hold about you. The self-service account deletion flow provides erasure for organisers. To exercise another right, contact support@triptimelines.com.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new Last updated date.
